What’s Health Share
A HealthShare is a non-profit membership program that allows members to share in medical expenses. Any medical expenses that meet our Member Guidelines are shareable on a per incident or illness basis and are subject to submission deadlines. You’ll be responsible for what we call the “Initial Unshareable Amount” or IUA.
Initial Unshareable Amount (“IUA”)
Every member has an Initial Unshareable Amount (IUA) chosen when you enroll. You may choose from an IUA of $1,000 or $5,000. This amount is how much you as a member are responsible for paying when you incur medical expenses.

Healthshare Member Guidelines
We have reimagined the HealthShare model to simplify the experience for our members and make medical cost sharing more accessible. In this document, we outline who we are as an organization and how we share in the medical costs of our members.
How does my IUA work?
The IUA saves members money when unexpected medical events occur. Here is an example of a broken ankle with a Zion HealthShare membership versus a health insurance policy.
